SleepSense is a nonprescription, herbal sleep supplement made by a company called SennaBliss. That company is based in Covington, Georgia and according to the official website for the company, it appears that this supplement is currently its only offering.

The company does have a contact form and a toll-free number, but does not provide any information about itself. In fact, it even simply describes its background as being a business that uses only herbal ingredients and those that provide a customer with the “most vital supplements.” It also states that all its supplements are non-GMO. It is unclear whether there are other supplements offered by this company and that are not mentioned on the website, if there had previously been additional products that have been discontinued or if the description is written in that way in order to become applicable when they first launch a second product. Nonetheless, despite its referral to their offerings in the plural, it looks as though there is only one at the moment.

SleepSense is an all natural sleep aid that claims not to be habit forming. This is an important point as many sleep aids – particularly prescription drugs – are associated with the risk of addiction and unwanted withdrawal symptoms.

This product is designed to work by easing the user’s mind from being overly active after a busy day. The result, claims SennaBliss, is “that perfect night’s rest.” It assures users that they will wake up feeling great each morning they take the product.

At the time this review was written, the SleepSense ingredients were listed on the official website as being: Magnesium, L-Theanine, GABA, 5-HTP, Melatonin, Phellodendron Root-Powder, Mucuna Pruriens.

These ingredients are all seen quite regularly in sleep aid formulas in the nonprescription industry. That said, many of them do have research to support their use for the types of reasons described by the manufacturer in the official website. While the research does not indicate that they are quite as powerful as the enthusiastic claims would suggest, they have been associated with calming an active mind.

Moreover, the melatonin in this product can help to reset circadian rhythms that are out of synch with the individual’s schedule. That circumstance can easily occur as a result of jet lag or because of a busy lifestyle that is not conducive to good sleep hygiene including a regular bedtime.

It’s important to note that this will not help in all forms of insomnia. It is meant for people with mild to moderate occasional insomnia as a result of an active mind. This will not help people with powerful, chronic insomnia or who suffer from sleeplessness from drug side effects or as a result of pain.
