Alteril is an over the counter sleep aid product that was designed to assist individuals in being able to achieve a better sleep when they have been struggling to fall asleep or to remain sleeping for a long enough period of time. Though many sleep aids are known for powerful unwanted side effects, this solution was formulated to avoid experiencing them.

The concept behind Alteril is to base the entire formula on a central ingredient that has been used for many years by individuals seeking a solid, sound, and restful sleep. The thought that brought this about is that the ingredient has been time tested and has therefore proven itself.

The manufacturer claims that when Alteril has been taken exactly according to its directions, it has not had any indication of causing its user to form a dependency or to experience the same side effects that are highly common among prescription strength sleep aids. Moreover, it can be used without the risk of forming an addiction, which is also a common among problem many types of sleeping pills.

The formulation of this sleep aid pill is made up of all natural ingredients that are not known to cause any of the side effects associated with prescription sleep aids. It is designed to create a gentle sedation that will help to ease its user into a sound, quality sleep.

The two main ingredients that make up the Alteril formula are Melatonin and L-Tryptophan. These are both ingredients that are commonly seen in various forms of sleep aids, from sprays to pills and dissolving strips.

Melatonin is a form of hormone that occurs naturally in the body and helps to regulate an individual’s sleep cycle. Some studies have indicated that it can help to improve the quality of an individual’s sleep when it is taken regularly. L-Tryptophan is a form of essential amino acid that can be found in almost all types of proteins; produced from both plants and animals. Once this ingredient is absorbed into the body, it is naturally converted into serotonin, which is a neurotransmitter that has a calming effect.

The directions suggest that one or two of the Alteril capsules should be taken approximately one hour before bedtime. This gives the ingredients time to absorb into the body and create the calming sedative effect that they were designed to produce. These are considered most effective for individuals with mild sleep struggles and should be used only after consulting a doctor or other qualified medical professional.

I decided to try this for my insomnia because I read some good reviews. Whilst the fist time I took it, it put me to sleep, I had very vivid and terrible dreams that seemed real. The next time I took it it did not put me to sleep, I just felt very spaced out with a heavy feeling in my chest. The next day I was very tired and irritable. I will be looking for something else to try.

You should try somnaprin (sp?) I have tried it and for me, for the money it’s the best sleeping aid I have found so far. No side effects and non habit forming. AND you don’t need a prescription to get it.

I think Alteril is a great sleep aid. The active ingredients are L-Tryptophan and Melatonin which are both natural sleep inducers. I found that sleep came easily and getting up the next day was not an issue.

I find atleril is a lot stronger then some of the other sleeping pills I have tried. The recommended two pill dose makes me very drowsy in the morning and I find it hard to get up. If I cut it back to only one pill, it’s a lot easier to get up as the drowsiness only lasts for about 10 minutes or so. I love that this products is all natural so you don’t have to worry about becoming addicted. My days are full of energy and productivity now I am very thankful to find something that works so well.
